Founded in 1984, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America's law enforcement officers and providing information to promote officer safety. The Fund constructed and maintains the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, a monument located in the 400 block of E Street, NW, that contains the names of the more than 18,200 law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty throughout U.S. history. The Fund is now leading the building of the first-ever, Congressionally authorized National Law Enforcement Museum directly adjacent to the Memorial
