How long have you been in business?
20 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Legal representation before federal, state and local taxing authorities in all areas from audit, to challenging proposed assessments and tax increases, as well as negotiating options for settling tax debts. We also provide representation in most matters pertaining to real estate, general business and contracts.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I became interested in tax and real estate law in law school. My background is an English major in college and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I worked as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel, IRS for 8 years in a variety of areas that included writing memoranda interpreting federal tax law for other attorneys in the national office and for attorneys in the district offices around the country. I also worked as a trial attorney within the Washington District Counsel's office, and later served as senior attorney in what was then the International Division. My experience with the IRS sets me apart from most other businesses in my category and area. My accessiblity, direct involvement with clients and straight talk set me apart from the remainder of businesses in my category.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location in Washington, D.C., but we have an attorney who is Of Counsel to the firm and whose office is in Los Angeles, California.
